This Privacy Policy explains how ExamClock ("we", "us"), operated by Sharpen Solutions, collects, uses and protects your personal data, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder. By using the app you consent to this Policy.
ExamClock is designed to work on your device. By default, your data — your name, chosen exams, planner, syllabus progress and study sessions — is stored locally on your phone and is not sent to us.
We only receive your data on our servers if you choose to create an account to sync across devices (see below).
Information you provide: your display name, the exams and subjects you track, planner items, study goals, syllabus progress, routines, and reminder preferences.
If you sign in to sync: your email address, and a copy of the app data listed above so it can be restored on your other devices.
Device & technical data: basic, non-identifying diagnostic information needed to keep the app working. Reminders are scheduled entirely on your device and do not require sending a token to us.
We do not show ads. ExamClock contains no advertising SDK and does not collect an advertising identifier.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, call logs or messages.
To provide the core service — showing your countdowns, plan, syllabus and reminders.
To sync and restore your data if you sign in.
To send you the reminders you have turned on.
Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by using the app and enabling each feature, and which you may withdraw at any time.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share data with a hosting provider only to the limited extent needed to run the sync service, under confidentiality obligations.
ExamClock does not display advertising. The app contains no advertising SDK, serves no ads, and does not collect or share an advertising identifier.
Many of our users are school students. Under the DPDP Act, 2023, if you are below 18 years of age you should use ExamClock with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
ExamClock shows no advertising and does not track children for advertising or profiling. A parent or guardian may contact us to review or delete a child's data.
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you have the right to: access a summary of your personal data; correct or update it; erase it; withdraw your consent; nominate another person to exercise your rights; and raise a grievance.
You can delete all data stored on your device at any time using "Reset app data" in the app. If you have an account, you can also sign out, and you may email us to delete your synced data.

On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Synced data is kept while your account is active and deleted on your request.
We use reasonable security safeguards (including encryption in transit) as required under the IT Act and SPDI Rules. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change, and continued use of the app means you accept the revised Policy.
